About Us

The City of La Porte Water Department was established in 1870 and has been in continuous operation since then. We have a long history of providing quality water that is reliably supplied and fairly priced. The City of La Porte’s Water Works is responsible for Water Production, Water Distribution, Metering and Backflow Protection, and most importantly ensuring safe and reliable water to the community.

Office Hours
Our office is located in the La Porte City Hall, 801 Michigan Avenue in downtown La Porte. It is open from 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday. A payment drop off box is in front of City Hall. You can deposit your payment there when the office is closed. Office Phone Number is (219) 362-3175. For weekend, holiday and night emergencies only, call the Water Department at 326-9540 and the Wastewater Treatment Department (Sewer) at 362-2354.
